SCGC Mission

The Safety Council of Greater Columbus (SCGC) is an extension of the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio’s effort to meet the safety training needs of all Ohio employers. With more than 200 member companies, the Council serves businesses interested in promoting and improving employee safety, which results in reduced workers’ compensation costs and a more knowledgeable, safe workforce.

Together with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC), the SCGC will hold monthly meetings for the 2026/27 workers’ compensation plan year that address various occupational safety and health topics, workers’ compensation and risk management education, with a focus on construction safety topics. These educational meetings are open to all employees of SCGC member firms.
