Silica Safety Measures
Respirators and silica dust management are critical components of safety in construction. Silica dust, commonly generated from activities like cutting, grinding or drilling concrete and stone, poses severe health risks, including lung disease and cancer. To mitigate these hazards, workers are required to wear appropriate respirators, which protect the lungs from inhaling harmful particles. The selection of respirators depends on the level of exposure and the specific tasks being performed. This presentation will cover what employers need to know to help reduce risk.
