Frank is the new liaison overseeing OHIO811 activities in the central part of the state, including the Columbus area. He brings 25 years of experience, having recently retired from AT&T. Frank spent most of his time at AT&T overseeing field technicians’ safety in multiple states.

Frank grew up on the west side of Cincinnati. After graduating from St. Xavier High School, Frank attended Xavier University. From there, he began his career with The Home City Ice Co. as Sales Area Manager, then General Manager of the Columbus Ohio division in 1986. In 1998 Frank joined AT&T as the Area Manager for the Central Ohio Payphone division.

Frank worked various jobs in multiple divisions throughout his career with AT&T. When he decided to step back, he oversaw more than 600 field technicians’ safety in the Ohio region.

Topic Two:

Managing Your Workers’ Compensation Program

Sedgwick and Sedgwick Managed Care Ohio will address the top common things employers should know when managing the injury and claims process, successful solutions and discuss BWC program updates.

This session is helpful for Human Resource and Safety personnel of all experience levels whether you are new to your role or tenured in the workers’ compensation process. For newer personnel, this will be an informative overview for successful management of a workers’ compensation program and serve as a refresher for experienced personnel to add more “tools” to your workers’ comp toolkit.

Cathy Baxter is an account executive with Sedgwick Managed Care Ohio and her role is to consult with area employers on their workers’ compensation programs. She has been employed with Sedgwick MCO for more than 22 years and has held numerous positions focused on workers’ compensation and client service. Specifically for the past fifteen years, Cathy has been a consultant to her clients by strategizing with employers about their workers’ compensation claims and injury reporting procedures from a managed care perspective.

Shane has more than 23 years’ extensive workers’ compensation experience in both Self-Insured as well as State Fund. He keeps current on the BWC laws, rules, and regulations as well as the BWC guidelines and programs. Shane is a Program Manager as well as an Account Executive with Sedgwick. He works with both Ohio Associations as well as Ohio Employers.

For the last 18 years, Shane has been teaching Worker’s Compensation 101 to Associations and employers across the region. As a very proactive Account Executive/Program Manager, he has great technical knowledge of claims management, BWC rating system, as well as hearing administration. He uses his excellent oral and written communication skills at speaking engagements across the state and believes that communication is the key to a successful Worker’s Compensation Program.

Shane manages all aspects of client relations and associations, with a focus on building relationships, understanding the needs of clients as well as managing the contractual fulfillment of assigned accounts for Ohio Workers’ Compensation programs.
