Our Next Meeting:

Active Shooter Response & Preparedness
Wednesday, Sept. 7

Active Shooter incidents continue to increase. Seldom does a week go-by without the news of another incident making headlines. An Active Shooter is defined as an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area; in most cases there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims. Active shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly.

Therefore it is vital that individuals and organizations know how to respond. This training session will give attendees insight and practical steps that could save lives.

Speaker: Chief Tim L. Holman, BA, EMTP, CFO, FSI, EMSI
German Township Fire & EMS (Clark County Ohio)

Registration, networking and a full breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the program from 8 to 9 a.m.

The Builders Exchange of Central Ohio (BX) proudly sponsors the Safety Council of Greater Columbus (SCGC). For more than a century, the Exchange has served firms throughout Ohio with a mission to advance the commercial construction industry as the resource for communication, education, services and recognition.

One of the most valuable BX services is the BX Safety Program. The program assists construction companies with their various safety needs – including OSHA compliance, workers’ compensation issues and most importantly, the well-being of the workforce.

The Safety Council of Greater Columbus is an expansion of the BX’s efforts to meet the safety training needs of all Ohio employers, regardless of their affiliation with the Exchange. In keeping with its mission, if the BX can’t help you, it will find a source that can.

Central Ohio companies are invited to join the Safety Council of Greater Columbus and could potentially save up to 4% on workers’ compensation premiums.

Companies do not need to be a member of the the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio to participate.
