The Safety Council of Greater Columbus, sponsored by the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio, meets at least monthly to exchange valuable safety resources, provide networking opportunities, and elevate the safety awareness of Central Ohio employers.

The meetings are not just for safety directors! Each month, individuals working in manufacturing, nursing facilities, commercial and residential construction, and local municipalities attend SCGC programs. Companies are encouraged to send anyone in their company who might benefit from the monthly topic. Company owners and presidents, project managers, foreman, safety directors, field and office personnel, human resource and operations directors all are represented at the meetings.

The meetings are free for employees of SCGC member firms that have paid the firm's annual $100 dues. The cost is $35.00 per person, per meeting for nonmembers of the SCGC. Time: Registration, networking and breakfast for regular monthly meetings begin at 7:30 a.m. with the program from 8 to 9 a.m. The program is extended each year in the month of July to review the regulations of the BWC incentive program. During July, the program is held from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

Credits: One hour in the area of health and safety for Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB).

Cost: Attendance in the council is an annual $100 per policy fee. The meetings are typically free for employees of SCGC member firms, unless otherwise specified.

Terms: Nonmembers must pay $35 per person, per meeting in advance of the program he or she wishes to attend.
