In conjunction with the Division of Safety & Hygiene, the Safety Council of Greater Columbus presents safety awards throughout Ohio to promote greater interest in the prevention of occupational injuries and illnesses. Members with the highest safety records will be recognized at the Annual Awards Banquet.

Companies participating in the safety council program are eligible for recognition by the BWC’s Division of Safety and Hygiene for safety excellence in the following categories:

• Group Award – lowest incident rate in each SCGC group

• Achievement Award – 25-percent reduction in incident rate from the previous year

• 100% Award – one year without a lost-time injury or illness

• Special Award – at least 500,000 hours and at least six months without a lost-time injury

The awards banquet will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Makoy Center, 5462 Center St., Hilliard.

Featured Speaker:   Craig Krenzel   Craig Krenzel who will share his message of embracing genuine leadership and teamwork in the face of the challenges that we all encounter on a daily basis.   On the field, Krenzel’s leadership helped guide Ohio State to their first National Championship in 34 years, leading the Buckeyes to a perfect 14-0 season including a victory over top-ranked and defending national champion Miami in the 2003 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, of which he was named Offensive MVP. Krenzel compiled 2,478 yards of total offense in 2002, fifth best all-time at OSU and was named the Archie Griffin Offensive Player of the Year and voted OSU’s Co-MVP for the 2002 season. After being voted All-Big Ten as a junior, Krenzel was named 2003 Team Captain by his teammates.    He finished his career with a victory in the 2004 Fiesta Bowl where he was named MVP for the second year in a row. As a starting quarterback, Krenzel finished his career with a 24-3 record and was drafted in the fifth round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. He started five games in the Windy City before spending one year with the Cincinnati Bengals.   Currently, Krenzel is a principal at Arthur Krenzel Lett Insurance Group, an independent insurance agency with offices in Ohio and West Virginia.
